Jak przeżywamy, widzimy, pamiętamy i marzymy o naszym życiu?
Wystawa Prawdziwe marzenia próbuje odpowiedzieć na to pytanie za pomocą analogowej fotografii eksperymentalnej.
Zdjęcia powstają w wyniku chemicznej manipulacji materiału fotograficznego w trakcie procesu twórczego; przedstawiają dokumentalne, a zarazem surrealistyczne obrazy w stylu malarstwa fotograficznego. Artyści badają postrzeganie tych zdjęć i tworzenie alternatywnych rzeczywistości, docierając przy tym do granic fotografii analogowej, by następnie przekroczyć je bez oporu czy wyrzutów sumienia.
Razem marzą o fotografowaniu, a następnie fotografują swoje marzenia. Ich prace przypominają o tym, że życie jest kręcącą się poza czasem i przestrzenią karuzelą przeszłych i przyszłych, prawdziwych marzeń.
Dreams, visions and illusions are as real
as any other everyday situation in life.
In accordance to this idea the artist couple Patrice Baunov and Vera Baunova
is questioning the concept of reality, life,
memory and dreams.
How do we experience, see, remember
and dream in our lives?
Using analogue experimental photography, they try to explore this question by
means of so-called true dreams.
Their photographs are created by a continuous chemical manipulation of the
photographic material throughout the
whole creative process. They show documental and at the same time surrealistic
images in the style of photographic painting. Both artists explore how these photos
and the creation of alternative realities
are perceived by investigating the limits
of analogue photography, which they remorselessly cross, without the slightest
hesitation.
Together they dream of taking pictures in
order to then photograph their dreams.
Their work reminds us that life is just
a merry-go-round, revolving beyond
space and time, around past and future
true dreams.
Träume, Visionen und Illusionen sind so real wie die alltäglichen Situationen des Lebens. In Anbetracht dieser Idee stellt das Künstlerpaar Patrice Baunov und Vera Baunova das Konzept von Realität, Leben, Erinnerungen und Träumen in Frage. Wie erfahren, sehen, erinnern und träumen wir unser Leben? Mit den Mitteln der analogen, experimentellen Fotografie wird in Wahrträume versucht, sich dieser Frage zu nähern. Die Fotografien entstehen durch chemische Manipulation des fotografischen Materials während des gesamten Schaffensprozesses; sie zeigen dokumentarische und gleichzeitig surrealistische Bilder im Stile fotografischer Malerei. Die beiden Künstler erforschen die Wahrnehmungen dieser Fotografien und die Erschaffung alternativer Realitäten, indem sie Grenzen der analogen Fotografie ausloten, nur um diese dann ohne Gewissensbisse und Rückhalt überschreiten zu können. Gemeinsam träumen sie vom Fotografieren, um dann ihre Träume zu fotografieren. Ihre Arbeiten sind eine Erinnerung daran, dass das Leben ein sich stets jenseits von Raum und Zeit drehendes Karussell zurückliegender und vorausschauender Wahrträume ist.
